Stair Grating Tread
Steel grating treads, also known as steps, are a type of steel grating designed for platform staircases. Based on the installation method, they generally fall into two categories: welded and bolted. For welded steel grating treads, which are directly welded to the keel, there is no need for additional side plates.
This type is more cost-effective and durable but not easy to disassemble. In contrast, bolted steel grating treads require thickened side plates on both sides; holes are drilled in these side plates, allowing for direct bolted fixation during installation. They are also recyclable and reusable. Customers can request custom-made products according to their actual needs.
While any type of steel grating can be fabricated into various sizes to fit the corresponding stairs, from an economic perspective, we recommend using the suggested sizes as much as possible.

Classification of Stair Tread
How to choose the step steel grating model: There are four main models of step steel grating (T1 T2 T3 T4 T5 T6).
It is mainly divided according to whether there is a front guard plate and a perforated side plate, which is mainly determined by the customer’s use requirements.
Classification of treads

In addition to the conventional checkered plate anti-slip nosing, T4 treads can also be equipped with punched anti-slip nosing and grooved anti-slip nosing.
T6 Tread refers to the anti-slip strip with side plates, bolt installation, and yellow coating nosing. Sino Grating recommends high-quality FRP Nosing. The product has good strength and strong corrosion resistance, and is highly recommended for customers.

Choose by the Following Methods:
1. If there are many people going up and down the stairs, you should use a front guard plate. Otherwise, you can use no front guard plate to reduce your cost.
2. When installing, is it fixed with screws or welding? Bolt fixing requires a punched rear side plate, while direct welding does not require thickened side plates.
Step steel grating recommended length: Recommended ladder tread width (based on 5mm thick flat steel) T1 to T4 30mm spacing 125 155 185 215 245 275 305. T1 to T2 40mm spacing 125 165 205 245 285 325. T3 to T4 40mm spacing 115 155 195 235 275 315. T1 to T2 60mm spacing 185 245 305. T1 to T2 60mm spacing 155 215 275.
From an economic point of view, it is recommended to use module widths (series 1 uses 125, 155, 185, 215, 245, 275, series 2 uses 125, 165, 205, 245, 275mm, etc.) as much as possible. The length is a multiple of 100mm (such as 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1200mm, etc.).
